Hello Judges!
Thank-you for volunteering your time to serve as a judge in this, our 29th Annual Toronto Council of Teachers of English Student Short Fiction Contest. We have had another enthusiastic response this year, and we hope you will find the diversity of style and subject, as well as the quality of our students’ stories, as engaging as have judges in the past. We also wish to acknowledge your crucial role in the contest. Without you, the whole endeavour would not be possible. Each judge will be assigned one batch of stories at a time, each between 9 and 15 stories. We have made an effort to vary the length of the stories in each batch, and to balance the total number of pages that each judge will be reading per batch. In Round 2, the ranking of the stories from Round 1 affects the batch make-up.
The contest is organized into three rounds of judging. The dates and deadlines are as follows:
Round # 1:
Stories and Batches Available - January 23rd
Completed Comments Due - February 20th
Ranking Due - February 20th
Round # 2:
Reordered Batches Available - February 23rd
Ranking Due - March 13th
Round # 3:
Final Round Judging (Judging Day) - Saturday April 18th, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location - Diane Franklin Co-Op (Conference Room)
85 Bleecker Street (Main Floor)
(North of Carlton, South of Wellesley, East of Sherbourne)
